As you may know i do some little Sunday Girl events in a pub in london fields. The concept is sunday afternoons, DJs, live bands, knitting, arts and crafts and lots of punch in tea cups! This year i really wanted to take my event to a festival and so we did….Sunday girl band stand stage at Apple Cart festival in Victoria park was born
To make more work for myself, i decided id give it a seaside theme. My poor car packed with 10 sacks of sand, a punch and judy show, a seaside face (thingy?) board, lots of rock and knitting needles we set off to dress my victorian band stand. The floor covered in sand and bunting hung from anything and eveything, it started to look good
My amazing ex art teacher is the brains behind the arts and crafts. People could sit on the many bails of straw covered in crouched blankets and make fish and chip jewellery along with a dash of knitting.
We had six bands playing, including front man of “Boy kill boy” and a guest appearance from one of the Magic numbers!! oh and me of course. DJs played between bands in their very own punch and judy DJ booth, why not?
i loved it and it was a complete success. Maybe ill do a few more next year?
